Purchased the organic kukicha recently. It's very forgiving of brewing temperature and doesn't get bitter.

The Ocha kukicha is so delicate and flavorful. I like to drink kukicha sometimes because it is lower in caffeine than sencha but gives me the flavor of delicious green tea. Ocha’s kukicha preserves the buttery and earthy nature of the plant like any other brand I’ve had. I highly recommend this tea to any green tea lover.

I love Japanese Green Tea and recently purchased Ocha & Co's organic japanese kukicha green tea because it was advertised as having less caffeine but a fresh, grassy taste. I dislike roasted green tea and can't handle a lot of caffeine like in traditional japanese green teas/matcha. At first I did not like the flavor, it seemed a bit too earthy and strong, but then I realized it was because I brewed it too long - it's not meant to be brewed more than 20-60 seconds. If you follow the directions of amount and brewing time fairly strictly on the back of the package you will get a delicate and aromatic green tea with a soothing yellowy/green color which is perfect for those wanting less caffeine and a calming, nutritious cup of tea!

The Kukicha green tea is absolutely delicious! Fresh scent with a slightly nutty flavor. I love the pale yellow-green color so much that I have begun drinking from clear cups so I can enjoy it visually as well. The tea came in a vacuum sealed foil pouch, making me feel more confident about the care taken with the tea. My new favorite tea at the moment!

I have been drinking kukicha for more than 2 decades, but have never had one as fine as this before. It has a full, sweet flavour, a beautiful aroma, and lovely pale golden green colour. Highly recommended.

After a long time, and a refined green tea brewing-technique [only one brew at below 70 degrees for ca. 2 min in a dedicated 1 liter Bodum French Press, then pressing and pulling the strainer a couple of times and finally poured into an Erlenmeyer flask], I bought another bag of this tea. The fresh leaves have an overall nutty Kukicha-smell of dried apricots, figs and mangos. The brew is outstanding and reminds me of whole artichokes, especially of the hay inside the artichoke-flower right above the heart - as well as of raw zucchini and unroasted sunflower seeds. Together with the Reicha and the Fukamushi, one of the 3 best teas on this site - and it's by far the best source of organic Japanese tea I know of. As usual, free shipping takes less than a week to Germany, totally amazing - I have not seen a teashop from the inside for years, and why should I. Hands down 5 out of 5 stars!

I had my first experience with Japanese twig tea at Habitat Suites in Austin, TX a few weeks ago. I knew from that experience I wanted some at home. So I got online and found this tea And we haven’t been disappointed. We tend to enjoy a cup in the evening and I follow the directions closely as to water temp. It’s great alone or with a little cream and/or sugar....very little sugar and I use maple syrup instead of sugar.

The order took a little longer than I was expecting but when it did arrive I saw it was shipped directly from Japan so that was understandable.

Since I don’t think it will be around long here at my house I opened both bags and stored the tea in a glass jar.

It is a lovely woody mild tea and has found a permenant place as a tea preference. I will order again.

Fantastic…I am caffeine sensitive so decided to try this tea because it is low in caffeine….I was skeptical it would be as flavorful as my favorite Sencha or Gyurko teas but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s delightful as a cold brew and I’m thrilled to be able to drink it in the afternoon without it harming my sleep.
