Ocha & Co. Organic Japanese Black Tea

ORGANIC JAPANESE BLACK TEA

Japan is famous for its green tea but there is also a small production of black tea too, virtually unheard of in the west. We supply a limited amount of a black tea made from a Yakubita cultivar, the tea comes from the same production of our organic green teas. It's black but totally different from the black teas that you are most probably used to. Hand picked young leaves. Fragrant, mild with zero bitterness. incredibly smooth.

Fantastic tea as always

I can't say enough good words about Ocha's tea. They are always fresh and top quality. I am totally spoiled now that I even bring my own tea from Ocha when I travel!

A nice simple tea, but much better at a lower concentration than recommended!

This is a nice simple tea, somewhat comparable to an Irish Breakfast. I would recommend using far less than the recommended 4 g per 8 oz, though (unless you really like bitter, astringent tea, then you do you!) I find I'm happy with 1.5 g per 8 oz, steeped in water just off the boil for 2 mins. Still needs a little sweetening, but that's about it.

Delicious

Great tea. Drink plain, adding milk or sugar takes away from the subtle flavors.

Did not except Japanese black tea to be so good

I generally prefer green tea, but after trying (and loving) nearly every green tea Ocha & Co has to offer, I finally decided to give this black tea a whirl. It turns out Japanese black tea is really good! It tastes like a high quality oolong - very smooth and not bitter at all. I normally need to add milk to black tea but this is fine on its own. I did try it with milk too (delicious!), but this is really the only black tea I can enjoy either way. I will definitely be buying more of this.
