Description

 ORGANIC  FUKAMUSHI SENCHA GREEN TEA

Fukamushi which means 'deep steamed' in Japanese is prepared using intense steaming; twice as long, as usual. This extra processing breaks down the structure of the leaf, releasing healthy nutrients and bioactives such as beta-carotene and Vitamin E into the brew. The tea has an intense green color, and a fuller rounded flavor with distinctive fine-floating tea particles. Rich and mild. It is becoming increasingly popular in Japan due to its mild taste and extra health benefits. Exposure to the sun increases the amount of the antioxidant catechins (EGCG) and vitamins.

First time trying Fukamushi Sencha

As someone who's only started really getting into the habit of drinking Green Tea (as well as other types of teas out there) daily in the middle of last year, I've been curious about getting to try Fukamushi Sencha, and, sure enough, I got to try it.

The flavor was very rich and, if sometimes, a bit somewhat on the strong side, I'd say, to where it was quite an enjoyable Green Tea to drink! The intense green color of the brewed Fukamushi Sencha liquid itself was a sight to see in my teacup. The leaves themselves gave off a nice aroma each time I go to prepare the Fukamushi Sencha.

I would also note that, due to the very small leaves of the Fukamushi Sencha as a result of the steaming process involved with it, depending on what kind of teapot/kyusu you use, cleaning your teapot/kyusu might take a bit more of a determined effort than usual, in-terms of using only warm water to rinse out your teapot/kyusu (In the case of unglazed clay teapot/kyusu, don't use soap, since the interior of the unglazed clay teapot/kyusu may very well absorb the soapy water, and can negatively impact any future brews in that said unglazed clay teapot/kyusu), so that's something to keep in-mind, depending on what kind of teapot/kyusu you use.

That being said, it doesn't take away from the fact, that the Fukamushi Sencha was a very delicious Green Tea to drink, so don't let the probable extra effort in rinsing out your teapot/kyusu after you're done brewing the Fukamushi Sencha turn you off. It's totally worth trying, for sure!

All-in-all, a wonderful experience! I'm very pleased to have chosen the fellows at Ocha and co. in getting to try Fukamushi Sencha for the very first time! I'd love to come back to try some more of it again sometime in the future!

Very good

My go to daily afternoon tea. This is a delicious sencha. I've made multiple orders over the last year and always delivers great quality. Follow the instructions on the bag for the quick steep. Steeps well for second cup too.

Organic Fukamushicha

I brew my tea at the lower spectrum of the recommended water temperature for a longer duration. This yields a brighter green and milder flavor. For my second cup using the same tea leaves, I use higher temperature water and enjoy my tea right away. Fresh and great quality tea!
