I recently ordered the Organic Kabusecha tea (along with several others). This is a lovely tea and I would recommend it highly. I am so pleased with all of the teas that I ordered. Each one had specific brewing instructions for that particular tea, which is really helpful. Most companies that I’ve used before have had the same brewing instructions for all of their green teas. I will definitely be a repeat customer.
Usually get my green tea from Dobra- sencha, kabusecha, kukicha, Gyokuro. This tea in just as good if not better. Highly recommended.
Very lovely tea, if conditions are met. The original packaging for this tea is not sufficient, for keeping un-used portion fresh. As I opened the pouch for the first time, I removed the tea leaves which I planned to use, and transferred the un-used tea leaves to individual packets, which I sealed with my vac sealer. I did not vacuum pack, I just made individual air tight packets. The reason for this procedure: This green tea (which I have purchased before) is susceptible to deterioration from contact with air. By transferring to individual sealed packets, I've kept this tea fresh for the six months which I take to use the entire amount.
In contrast, if the original pouch is opened for each time of brewing, this tea loses the nice fresh taste which it has when it's first delivered.
Second...I have very much enjoyed this tea, when I have steeped the leaves in a certain way. I don't use a tea ball. or anything that packs the leaves together. I boil the water in an open (non toxic/Staub) pot. As the water reaches full boil, I remove from the heat and I wait a full two minutes for cooling. Water which is too hot will ruin this tea!!! I add a generous portion of tea leaves to the pot of water and I let steep (covered) for no more than 3.5 minutes. Based on experience, I will say that this tea is ruined (made bitter) with long steeping. After steeping (for under four minutes) I strain the tea into a pre-warmed tea pot.
This is lovely tea, as it's delivered from Ocha. Not nice if the purchaser blasts the un-used portion with air, every time that a portion is taken out for brewing. This tea requires careful storage and careful brewing, to even be drinkable. My method may not be the only way. Follow instructions. 0r don't expect nice, fully flavorful tea.
For years I have always ordered Gyokuro, but this time I branched out and ordered Ocha & Co. Kabusecha. I will now have this delicious tea in my tea repertoire. It has a green, woody flavor I really enjoy.
Our order of Organic Kabusecha arrived quickly, was vacuum-packed, and tasted so fresh and vibrant. We are enjoying the flavor ocha each day and also appreciate the potential health benefits in each cup!
