A premium Kabusecha green tea from young first flush leaves that have been picked, quickly steamed, dried rolled and then blended. The tea is grown in natural shade for a short time to increase the amino acid content in the leaf. This high-grade green tea is much milder and more complex than regular Sencha with a hint of sweetness.

How to make this tea ?

How to make Matcha tea the Japanese way - Ocha & Co.

Why not try drinking Japanese Matcha the traditional way using a bamboo whisk called or Chasen in Japanese and a bamboo scoop or Chashaku? Just follow the instructions in the illustration above using only hot water and nothing else. For drinking matcha straight with nothing else added, a high quality Matcha such as our Kyoto Uji or Single Cultivar Matcha are perfect as they do not have any of the aftertaste or bitterness of lower quality teas. Vary the amount of water added to make it stronger, 'Koicha', or lighter, 'Usucha' depending on how you like to drink it.

TIP:Take a break from what you are doing, slow down and savor the flavor and aroma of your matcha drink. Focus on the day ahead. Sipping from a matcha bowl or 'Chawan' will heighten the experience.

Enjoying My Kabusecha Tea

Light and clear brew

It’s a good blend to drink all day and not so temperamental with long brewing times. Hot or cold is just fine. It’s a fine taste for the price. It’s good if you want to serve to guests that might not enjoy a more brackish green tea.

Kabusecha

I recently ordered the Organic Kabusecha tea (along with several others). This is a lovely tea and I would recommend it highly. I am so pleased with all of the teas that I ordered. Each one had specific brewing instructions for that particular tea, which is really helpful. Most companies that I’ve used before have had the same brewing instructions for all of their green teas. I purchased the Kabusecha and I love it. I've been drinking green tea for decades, and this is some of the best quality tea that I've ever had. The brew is a beautiful green - the color of honeydew - and the flavor is delicate and delicious. It may be slightly pricier than grocery store tea, but you can brew the same teaspoon of leaves over and over again - I probably brew 5 cups a day from the same tea leaves - so it ends up being well worth the price. I also feel comforted to know that green tea from Japan has lower lead levels than lots of other green tea.
