This is the best green tea!
Very smooth, not bitter. I recommend it to anyone who loves green tea. And I like that it comes in vacuum sealed bags.

I have a better quality of life incorporating Shincha tea into my daily routine. I get a nice boost of energy without the jitters. I have several different types of tea from Ocha & Co, and this is the best I’ve ever had in my life. The customer service service here is superior.

This is a decent tea but it has a flavor that is more dry and mineral than I tend to prefer and expect from a good Shincha. My comparison point here is an example of this season's harvest from Okouchi, which a bit more round, vegetal, and full-flavored, while remaining somewhat lighter than say a deep Gyokuro. The Okouchi tea is slightly more expensive, but not by much, and side by side it definitely wins. However this Shincha is also enjoyable, especially if you prefer a more dry, "clean" cup.

I love this organic shincha green. I purchase exclusively from Ocha and Co because I have not found any other tea producer that offers the same superior quality, reasonable price, and delicious taste. I love Japanese green tea and the shincha is a new one for me but a fast favorite. I order it every time I get tea from a Ocha and I hope they continue to cultivate this one. It’s very light and easy to drink, but if you steep it a little longer it’s nice and strong and robust. Great for iced tea too.

Each year, I await the shincha and am sad if I am not quick enough to get my hands on it. This year is stellar, with low astringency and sweet flavors. There is always the essence of a sea breeze in the delicate flavors.

I am very pleased with the quality (and value) of this organic Shincha tea. It is sweeter and has more of a grassy tone than regular Sencha tea. There is absolutely no bitterness or astringent tone to the tea. I was very pleased with how quickly the tea arrived. The tea is vacuum sealed in an aluminum pouch and was very fresh. Free airmail shipping from Japan is also a big plus. I am very happy to have found Ocha and Company. It is very difficult to have access to tea of this quality outside of Japan. Highly recommended.

If you're already a customer of Ocha & Co., you know they provide some of the best tea in the world. The 2017 shincha is no exception—as high as my expectations already were, someone they were exceeded, which is saying a lot. Compared to the sencha and fukamushi, the profile of the shincha's just a little more of everything, it seems: a little more astringent, a little grassier, a tiny bit sweeter, and even a little more savory. Due to these characteristics it's not quite as mellow as a typical sencha, but its flavor is refreshingly distinct and surprising. All in all, it tastes very much like what it is: a super-duper fresh cup of prime Japanese tea.

As always, Gary provides one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'll never buy my tea from anywhere else, I'm a customer for life and my loyalty is undying. You won't find a better quality-to-price ratio anywhere else. Ocha & Co.'s teas are so good that every single other tea I already owned is getting stale in my cabinet because I don't even drink anything else anymore.

The Shincha is very smooth, almost as light astringency as the kabusecha (which is my favourite). The smell of the dry leaves is lovely and fresh; almost mango-ish. It has a well rounded flavour with very firm grassiness, which to me is an indication of how fresh it is. The colour brewed is almost as spring-green as a cup of good matcha. I've often gone exploring on sites like eBay and Amazon for the "perfect" Japanese teas, but ultimately it's the flavour of Ocha's that has made them the absolute standard in my mind. Thanks to Gary for his helpful customer service, and thanks to the farmer for having the magic touch.

In a world where everything is in full speed ahead I need a break. I take my time brewing my tea at the right temperature. Use a special delicate cup and sit and inhale the beautiful aroma of the tea. Shincha First Harvest is light and grassy. Delicate and fresh.
