Fukamushi Sencha means 'Deep Steamed' in Japanese. The steaming process which is twice as long, as usual, breaks down the structure of the leaf and releases valuable healthy nutrients and bioactives such as beta-carotene and Vitamin E into the brew. Deep intense green colour, fuller rounded flavour with distinctive fine-floating tea particles. Rich and mild. Increasing popularity in Japan due to its mild taste and extra health benefits. Growing the tea in the sun increases the amount of the antioxidant Catechins (EGCG) and Vitamins.
This Fukamushi Sencha pours an intense green with a fresh, aromatic character. Its taste is flavourful, with clear umami, and the leaves steep well more than once.
SUZUKI-SAN, 6TH GENERATION
Please Note. The teas has been steamed for a longer period which results in the tea having smaller leaf particles compared to regular Sencha.

Add the leaves to cold water and leave in the fridge. Sweeter, smoother and less bitter than a hot brew.
Pour hot sencha over a bowl of rice topped with nori, sesame and flaked salmon. Japan's favourite quick comfort meal.
